A Turkish Percussion Instrument Library For HYDROGEN
We have just made an percussion instrument library for a Turkish drum
called "Asma Davul (Hanging Drums in English)" in order it to be a
contribution to the GNU/Linux audio users.
This
is a traditional instrument of Turkish folk music which is played by
hanging on the shoulders and by two sticks, one is thicker with a
beetle on one side and the other is a very thin piece of wood. The
thick one called "tokmak" in Turkish hits one side of the drum and
makes a sound call "Dum", the thin one hits the other head and makes a
sound called "Tek". The drum heads are originally made of animal skin
but today plastic replacements also exist. "Asma Davul" is famous with
being played in village weddings or any folk dances called "Halay".

Here is a sample tune played by me (Arda EDEN) as a demo:
(In this demo Asma Davul is not played in a traditional style, actually this is some kind of New Age)

and Here is the library:
(just extract and copy to the data folder of Hydrogen)

This library is licensed under GPLv3. Feel free to use it.
